What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to guiding students not only in developing their athletic skills but also in supporting their overall well-being. I focus on helping them navigate the challenges of sports while fostering a safe and inclusive environment, addressing any instances of bullying, and promoting confidence, resilience, and personal growth both on and off the field.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I face in my field is working in a male-dominated environment. Being the only female in my workplace has taught me to navigate unique dynamics while also creating opportunities to bring diverse perspectives, foster inclusion, and serve as a role model for other women aspiring to enter the field.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life center on integrity, empathy, and advocacy. In my career in physical therapy and healthcare, I am committed to supporting patients and students with care and respect. I have also dedicated myself to research on sexual harassment in athletic training, contributing to studies published in 2019, 2020, and in full in 2022, highlighting how students are affected and emphasizing the importance of creating safe, inclusive environments.
