She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from Pratt Institute and completed a Master of Science in Human Nutrition at the University of New Haven. Throughout her career, Claudette has combined her clinical expertise with leadership skills to improve patient outcomes and advance nutrition services in hospital and freelance settings.

She began her professional journey as Chief Clinical Dietitian at Montefiore Nyack Hospital, where she oversaw clinical nutrition programs and worked closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care. Following her tenure there, Claudette transitioned to freelance clinical nutrition management, providing guidance and consultation to healthcare facilities and patients, continuing to make a positive impact on community health.

Claudette is recognized for her dedication to healthcare excellence, her ability to manage and mentor nutrition teams, and her commitment to lifelong learning. Even in retirement, she remains engaged in the field, advocating for nutrition education and sharing her knowledge with colleagues and the next generation of dietitians.

I attribute my success to maintaining a strong sense of professionalism, always acting with integrity, and never cutting corners in my work. These values have guided me throughout my career and continue to shape the way I approach every opportunity and challenge.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to “be patient.” It has reminded me to stay focused, trust the process, and allow growth and opportunities to unfold over time.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the field is twofold: first, be sure this is truly the path you want to pursue; and second, don’t enter it for the money—pursue it for the meaningful impact nutrition has on people’s lives.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are honesty, integrity, professionalism, teamwork, and accountability. I also prioritize the ability to accept constructive criticism and use it to grow and improve continuously.
