I attribute my success to hard work and determination. I came to the United States from the Dominican Republic as an attorney, having attended law school and earned numerous awards for my accomplishments. Over the past 13 years, I have greatly valued my experience working for the District Attorney's office, but I am now preparing to take the bar exam to practice law here, pursuing my true passion and calling.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that I can do anything. I’ve embraced this mindset while managing my father’s real estate business in the Dominican Republic, a family enterprise that has been successfully established since 2004.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is that you can achieve anything and be successful anywhere in the world. Being an immigrant may present extra challenges, but it also teaches resilience and determination qualities that will help you work even harder and achieve greatness.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is preparing to take the bar exam and reestablish myself as a practicing lawyer here in the United States. It is a rigorous process, but I am well on my way and view it as an exciting opportunity to advance my career and fully pursue my passion for law.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are hard work, dedication, and responsibility. With my husband working for the Federal Government and facing a shutdown, I am committed to working even harder to support my family and contribute meaningfully to my community.
