Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to adaptability, resourcefulness, and an unwavering commitment to excellence—especially when working under pressure. Staying calm, maintaining discretion, and pivoting quickly in unpredictable situations have been key factors that have allowed me to thrive in demanding roles.

My career spans over 20 years, beginning in hospitality and cruise lines before transitioning into private service roles supporting prominent individuals. A temporary opportunity assisting with the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla unexpectedly opened doors for me, ultimately shaping my long-term path as a trusted executive assistant.

My core expertise lies in high-level executive support, complex schedule management, and coordinating logistics for high-profile individuals. I excel at anticipating needs, handling confidential information, and managing multi-office operations for executives and internationally recognized clients. Two career highlights stand out: assisting with the royal wedding and organizing my company’s first-ever client week at the Masters Tournament. Coordinating multiple homes, chefs, transportation, entertainment, and client experiences at an international level remains one of my proudest accomplishments.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received comes from both experience and mentorship. My early exposure to the royal household shaped my understanding of professionalism at the highest level, while guidance from seasoned assistants throughout my career has served as invaluable informal mentorship. Connecting with other assistants has also been instrumental, as they truly understand the unique pressures and nuances of this role.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to recognize your value and understand that you are the backbone of your executive’s success—never minimize your contributions. Stay confident, ask questions, speak up early, and embrace the fast-paced, dynamic nature of the assistant profession.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is the constant unpredictability—plans can change by the hour, and high-profile clients often have needs that cannot be delayed. At the same time, there are significant opportunities to develop global coordination skills, gain exposure to international business, and become truly indispensable to top executives.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values to me in both my work and personal life are loyalty, professionalism, and integrity. I believe in being dependable, respectful, and prepared at all times, especially when representing executives with high visibility. Outside of work, I am passionate about volunteering with animals—particularly primates—staying active, and giving back to causes I care about. My time at Save the Chimps brings balance and joy after years in high-intensity executive environments.
