Influential Women

A milestone in the journey. My first invitation to guest speak about child abuse prevention and advocacy, alongside the director of Oregon Child Abuse Solutions. It was one of the first moments I realized that the experiences that had changed my life could also become a reason to speak up, educate others, and help create safer systems for children.

I went to Aguadilla Puerto Rico in 2017 scouting for ocean front properties to retire to, 2 weeks after I got there Hurricane Maria hit. I was in an apartment right across the street for the ocean. Didn't believe I was going to make it. Made coffee with an $8.00 hot plate and sticks I found on the ground until the National Guard arrived a week later. I slept on the steps of the capital building in San Juan to get this FEMA DISASTER INSPECTOR badge. And I am proud to say I still wear it to thid ay and was able to help the citizens of New Orleans for a second time.

A milestone in mentorship, education, and community impact. I was honored to attend the ULM Opioid Summit alongside members of the J & Fortune Consulting LLC team and our psychology practicum interns from Louisiana Delta Community College. This experience allowed our future behavioral health professionals to connect classroom learning with addiction education, prevention, advocacy, and real-world community service. Developing the next generation of leaders while strengthening the behavioral health and addiction workforce is an important part of my God-given purpose.

Graduated with my Associates degree in Business Administration with honors from Alpha Beta Gamma and PHI Theta Kappa Honor Societies along with Dean's list and Presidents list. Plus I graduated with my twin daughters getting the same degrees and honors.
