Who we're looking for

If you have a story
worth telling, we want it.

You do not need a title, a book deal, or a big following. Founders, executives, specialists, and women in the middle of a reinvention all sit in the same chair. What matters is having something real to say and being willing to say it plainly.

Founders & Executives

You built the company, or you help run it.

Experts & Specialists

Deep knowledge in your field, whatever that field is.

Second Acts

A pivot, a rebuild, a chapter that started over.

A Point of View

You see your industry differently and can say why.

What we'll talk about

Every conversation is different. Most move through something like this.

  • Where it started. The beginning, and everything you did not know yet.
  • The hard part. The setback, the decision, the stretch that nearly stopped it.
  • The turn. What changed, and what actually made the difference.
  • What it took. The real cost of building the thing, said honestly.
  • What you know now. What you would tell the woman standing where you started.

Jodie O'Brien

Journalist & Host, The Influential Women Podcast

Jodie is a journalist and media consultant whose career spans decades in newsrooms and broadcast. She interviews the way reporters do, which means she has read your background before you sit down and she will follow the thread rather than run down a question list.

Guests describe the conversations as easier than expected and more revealing than planned. That is the intent. The show is built for the part of the story that does not make it into the press release.

This podcast is about real stories from real women who are shaping the world in remarkable ways. Jodie O'Brien

Questions

Does it cost anything to be a guest?

No. There is no fee to apply and no fee to appear. Guests come on to tell their own story in their own words, and nothing about the conversation is bought or sold.

How long is the recording?

Plan for about forty five minutes. Episodes are edited down, so you do not need to be perfect on the first pass and you can restart an answer any time.

Do I need to prepare anything?

No deck, no script, no talking points. Jodie researches every guest in advance. Come ready to speak candidly about what you built and how it actually went.

Is it remote or in person?

Remote. We record over video from wherever you are, and our team handles the technical side.

What do I get to use afterward?

The published episode, a dedicated episode page on influentialwomen.com, and promotional clips and graphics you are free to use on your own channels indefinitely.
