About Maria

Maria Gallucci is an award-winning REALTOR®, entrepreneur, best-selling author, speaker, podcast host, and advocate with more than 30 years of experience in residential real estate. As a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), she learned American Sign Language before English and began developing her passion for communication and advocacy at a young age. At 12, she helped her Deaf parents navigate the purchase of their first home, an experience that ultimately influenced her career and commitment to helping others feel understood, respected, and included.

Through Gallucci Homes at Compass, Maria specializes in residential real estate, investment properties, new construction, land, relocation, and luxury real estate. She is also the founder of ASL Realty, a national referral platform connecting Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers with ASL-communicating real estate professionals, and ASL @ Compass. Her professional accomplishments include ranking among the top 1.5% of REALTORS® nationwide, receiving numerous industry awards, and becoming a best-selling author of Raised in Silence, which explores communication, family, resilience, leadership, and belonging.

Beyond her business career, Maria is dedicated to advocacy, community leadership, and inclusive communication. She serves on the boards of DOVE (Deaf Overcoming Violence through Empowerment), Rocky Mountain Deaf School, and the Colorado Association of the Deaf, and has spoken for organizations including the Hearing Loss Association of America. Through her writing, speaking, media work, and leadership, Maria encourages people to embrace their differences, listen with intention, and create spaces where others can truly belong. Her guiding philosophy is simple: “Just Try.”

Ten minutes with Maria

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, curiosity, and a willingness to keep trying even when things do not go as planned. Growing up between the Deaf and hearing worlds taught me to listen carefully, understand different perspectives, advocate for others, and find another way when necessary. I have also learned that success comes from taking action rather than waiting for everything to be perfect. Whether building my real estate career, launching ASL Realty, writing my book, or stepping into speaking and media, I have stayed open to learning, trusted my experiences, and continued to show up. My philosophy is simple: Just Try.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve learned is to stop waiting until I feel completely ready and simply take the next step. You will make mistakes, hear “no,” change direction, and discover that some ideas do not work, but none of those things mean you have failed. I’ve learned that progress comes from taking action, learning along the way, asking for help when needed, and being willing to adjust. Sometimes you just have to make the call, ask the question, walk into the room, or write the first page. You don’t need perfection to move forward.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in real estate is finding new ways to combine technology with genuine human connection. Technology can make transactions more efficient, but buying or selling a home remains a deeply personal experience, and clients still want to feel understood, informed, and represented. I also see a growing opportunity to make real estate more accessible and inclusive, particularly for Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers and others who may feel overlooked. The challenge is keeping pace with changing technology and consumer expectations while maintaining the trust, communication, and personal relationships that are at the heart of this business.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are integrity, respect, resilience, empathy, and inclusion. I believe people want to feel understood, valued, and respected, and I try to bring that mindset into every relationship, whether I’m working with a client, leading a business, or serving my community. I also value authenticity and perseverance. Life does not always go according to plan, but I believe in adapting, learning from challenges, and continuing to show up. Above all, I want my work to help people feel seen, heard, and like they truly belong.
