Eva De Jesus
Eva De Jesús is an accomplished Dual Language Coordinator and Peer Collaborative MLL Teacher whose career is defined by her commitment to bilingual education, multilingual learning, and instructional excellence. With advanced training in TESOL and over a decade of experience in ESL and ELA instruction, she has become a trusted leader in supporting diverse learners across K–12 settings. Her work integrates language acquisition, literacy development, and culturally responsive practices, positioning her as a key resource for both students and educators navigating multilingual classrooms.
As a certified Peer Collaborative Teacher with the NYCDOE, Eva specializes in coaching, staff development, and curriculum innovation. She partners closely with educators to refine instructional practices, implement scaffolding and differentiation strategies, and drive data-informed instruction that elevates student outcomes. Her excellence in mentorship and teaching has earned her multiple distinctions, including the MLL Expert Award, Multilingual Learners Award, and Instructional Star recognition. Her professional achievements have also been honored nationally through her inclusion as a Marquis Who’s Who Honored Listee.
Beyond her formal roles, Eva is deeply committed to community impact and cultural advocacy. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she volunteers her time to support Latino communities by providing translation assistance and helping families access essential education-related services. What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my parents, the strength of the community that shaped me, and the teachers and role models who guided my path. Their encouragement, values, and belief in my potential have been the foundation of my growth and the driving force behind my commitment to education and service.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to look within yourself and make sure you’re pursuing this path for the right purpose. Stay committed, set clear goals, and don’t give up when challenges arise—they’re part of the journey. Most importantly, take care of yourself. Your well-being is the foundation that allows you to show up fully, grow, and thrive in this work.
