What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my passion for interior design and my faith in God. My love for design started as a little girl when my mother would bring home catalogs and let me pick out what I wanted for my room. That early experience sparked my creativity, and soon friends and family were seeking my advice on their own spaces.
I earned my associate degree in design while living in Georgia, where I also opened my first business. After college, I began my career as an intern at La-Z-Boy, and they eventually hired me full-time. My career took off from there, and in 2017, I was proud to achieve $1.5 million in design sales.
After moving to Houston, Texas, I continued to grow professionally and am now looking forward to opening my own business again. I truly love the work I do, and my journey has been shaped by dedication, creativity, and gratitude.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is: “You’re not just selling a product—you’re selling a vision.” This advice has guided me to focus on helping clients imagine the possibilities and the experience, rather than just the items or services themselves. It’s a principle that keeps my work meaningful and impactful.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are service, compassion, and giving back. I have a deep commitment to helping others, which I express through my involvement with my family’s nonprofit that provides meals to the homeless. The organization is entirely self-funded through donations, and being part of that effort has reinforced the importance of generosity, community, and making a meaningful impact.
