Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being open to opportunities I never imagined and embracing the challenges that come with them. Saying yes to representing Dune Ceramica set me on a path of growth, international experience, and national recognition, and even after more than a decade in the industry, I still let my nervous energy drive me to push beyond my comfort zone and achieve more.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to foster strong relationships, stay adaptable to different personalities and company cultures, and embrace the nerves as a sign that the work truly matters.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to stay open to pivots and take risks—sometimes your best opportunities come from paths you never planned. Don’t stay in a position that doesn’t inspire you; follow your dreams, embrace new challenges, and trust that your past experiences will guide you to where you’re meant to be.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is balancing cost concerns with delivering value, especially as the economy impacts construction budgets. At the same time, there are opportunities to innovate and find creative solutions that meet both design and financial goals, like overcoming regional market limitations I experienced while growing tile sales in Minneapolis.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are building strong relationships, staying adaptable, and balancing strategy with heart. I believe in trusting my instincts, remaining open to opportunities, and approaching every challenge with patience, persistence, and a genuine respect for the people I work with.
