Judit Marta Pap

Dr. Judit Marta Pap is the Owner and President of JP Research and Development, LLC, based in Greenbelt, Maryland. With a PhD in Physics from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary, she has dedicated over two decades to advancing the field of solar-terrestrial physics. Her research focuses on understanding solar irradiance variations across different wavelengths and their impacts on Earth’s atmosphere, climate, and space environment. Dr. Pap has led numerous national and international projects, authored scientific publications, and organized conferences, establishing herself as a respected figure in her field.

Throughout her career, Dr. Pap has been Principal and Co-Investigator on numerous NASA and NOAA grants and has contributed to both U.S. and European research initiatives. She is experienced in proposal writing, peer review, and project leadership, having served on NASA review panels and as a reviewer for NSF and ESA projects. Her work has included both ground-based and space-based solar observations, with a strong focus on long-term modeling of solar irradiance and its implications for climate science.

In addition to her scientific endeavors, Dr. Pap has pursued a career in insurance as an independent contractor for Farmers Insurance Company, offering life, health, property, and casualty insurance to individuals and small businesses. She has also held independent contracting roles with Aflac and TransAmerica. Combining rigorous scientific expertise with business acumen, she balances her passion for research with a commitment to serving her community, demonstrating a unique blend of analytical skill, leadership, and practical problem-solving.
