What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the discipline and work ethic I developed during my 15 years in the military, which I joined at 19. After my service, I transitioned into the construction industry—a move inspired by a trip to Disney World with my daughter. I'm most proud of working my way up from the front desk to branch manager, where I led the team in growing the business from $1 million to $40 million over eight years.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to take emotion out of decision-making and focus on the facts. Embrace what makes you unique—your perspective as a woman is not only valid but incredibly valuable. Confidence, resilience, and staying true to yourself will set you apart and drive your success.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, integrity, communication, and loyalty are the values I hold closest in both my professional and personal life. They guide how I lead, build relationships, and face challenges. Outside of work, my family is everything—especially my daughter, Taeshia, who continues to be my greatest inspiration. I'm also deeply involved in causes that support the autistic community, inspired by my grandson, as well as veterans' advocacy through DAV. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, pottery classes, and cycling—activities that keep me grounded and fulfilled.
