Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If I could offer advice to someone just beginning their career, it would be to stay curious, remain open, and allow yourself to evolve. Leadership is not about having all the answers; it’s about listening, learning, and leading in a way that is authentic to who you are. Avoid comparison—it only distracts from your growth. Your voice matters exactly as it is.

I’ve learned that you don’t have to sound like the people you learn from to be effective. Growth comes from finding your own voice, refining it over time, and trusting it. Quiet confidence carries just as much weight as the loudest voice in the room, and authenticity will always be your greatest strength.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is navigating complex professional environments without a clear roadmap—particularly as a first-generation college graduate. I learned to move through higher education and leadership spaces through experience, perseverance, and resilience rather than guidance or precedent. Balancing a demanding career while continuing my education required significant discipline and sacrifice, especially while holding leadership roles in high-pressure settings.

At the same time, one of the most significant internal challenges was developing confidence in my own voice and resisting the pressure to conform to traditional leadership styles. Like many women, I had to unlearn the idea that leadership looks or sounds only one way. These challenges ultimately became opportunities for growth, shaping my leadership philosophy and reinforcing my belief that authenticity, empathy, and continuous learning are essential to meaningful and sustainable success.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are service, mentorship, and inclusion. I am deeply committed to helping others—especially friends, family, and those I mentor—and I strive to cultivate a culture rooted in support, growth, and compassion in everything I do. Creating environments where people feel seen, valued, and empowered is a principle that guides both my professional and personal life.

Beyond the workplace, my commitment to service extends into the community. I am actively involved with organizations that support individuals with disabilities and those affected by mental health challenges, including ARC, Hubbard House, and BASCA. These causes are not separate from my life’s work; they are central to it. Advocacy, inclusion, and dignity are values I carry into every role, relationship, and responsibility.
