Katie Dannible is a highly skilled electrical and instrumentation & control (I&C) engineer with over a decade of experience in the energy and engineering sectors. She currently serves as an I&C Senior Engineer at Paragon Energy Solutions, where she provides technical expertise, develops and reviews engineering documentation, and leads initiatives to improve operational efficiency. Katie has a proven track record of mentoring teams, implementing process improvements, reverse engineering electronic equipment, qualifying electronic equipment and ensuring compliance with IEEE & EPRI technical standards and guidance documents and hardware design requirements. Katie’s career began with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, followed by a Master’s degree in the same field from Purdue University. She has held roles at prominent organizations such as General Dynamics, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, and Paragon, gaining extensive experience in reverse engineering, automation, and electrical system design. What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: ask questions and stay curious- people in tech love sharing knowledge, and this is the best way to build confidence and grow.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Nuclear energy is the future - it's a great time to be in the industry and to join it! This field are growing at an exciting rate and there are so many opportunities regardless of what one's aspirations are.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are creativity and precision, both in my work and in my personal life, where I enjoy woodworking and crafting. Specific to work life, the most important value is quality. I believe that executing a high-quality product is of the utmost importance and is key to developing strong relationships with customers.
