Katie Schneller
Katie Schneller, MS, CRA, BCBA, is an accomplished research administrator, organizational leader, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a proven record of elevating institutional research operations and driving strategic, data-informed change. With experience spanning major research universities and interdisciplinary environments, she brings deep expertise in federal grants management, leadership development, and applied behavior analysis. Throughout her career, Katie has demonstrated a strong commitment to building systems that enhance institutional effectiveness while fostering collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Most recently serving as Director of the Office for Sponsored Programs at The University of Alabama, Katie has led initiatives that strengthened research infrastructure, advanced process efficiencies, and improved the overall competitiveness of the university’s research portfolio. Prior to her role at UA, she spent nearly fourteen years at West Virginia University, where she held multiple progressive leadership positions, culminating in her directorship of the Office of Sponsored Programs. Across these roles, she oversaw multi-unit teams, guided policy development, implemented comprehensive staff training programs, and represented her institutions in national research administration organizations. Earlier in her career, Katie leveraged her behavior-analytic training to design and deliver evidence-based behavior change and professional development programs, demonstrating a longstanding passion for teaching, coaching, and organizational growth.
Katie holds a Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis from Auburn University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Jacksonville State University. She maintains certifications as a Certified Research Administrator (CRA) and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Known for her strengths in leadership, change management, employee engagement, and professional communication, she is an accomplished public speaker who enjoys presenting at conferences and contributing to the advancement of the research administration profession. Katie continues to be driven by her commitment to empowering teams, improving organizational culture, and championing data-driven decision-making in research and higher education environments.
