Magda Madkour

Magda Madkour, Ph.D., is a distinguished educator, researcher, and author specializing in English, translation studies, and applied linguistics. With a Ph.D. in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and a postgraduate certificate in professional development from Harvard University, she has dedicated her career to advancing teaching methodologies and fostering interdisciplinary understanding. She also holds a certificate of proficiency in translation and conference interpreting from the American University in Cairo, reflecting her deep expertise in both language and translation. Throughout her career, Magda has taught in higher education institutions in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, shaping the next generation of linguists, translators, and researchers.

Currently, she serves as Professor of English and Translation Studies and an independent researcher at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she explores the impact of linguistic, psychometric, and social factors on students’ communicative competence. She previously held long-term teaching positions at King Saud University and Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud University, where she instructed undergraduate and graduate students in translation, interpreting, and English language studies. Her work extends beyond teaching, encompassing curriculum design, instructional development, and the integration of technology into education.

Magda is also the president of Andretta Research, a nonprofit organization honoring Professor Richard Andretta’s contributions to literature, language, and translation studies.
