Meg Gibson, Ed.D., CDP is a Personal Branding Strategist, Organization and Leadership Development Consultant, and Founder & CEO of True Choices Consulting, LLC. With over 25 years of experience across higher education, government, and corporate sectors, she empowers high-achieving professionals to reclaim their voice, align with their authentic purpose, and lead with confidence and clarity. A proud graduate of Nova Southeastern University, where she earned her Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, Meg combines academic insight with real-world expertise to help leaders elevate their presence and influence through her proprietary EMBODY™ Framework and transformational coaching programs.
Before launching her consulting firm, Meg served as Learning and Organizational Development Manager for the City of Charlotte, where she designed leadership initiatives that improved engagement, inclusion, and performance across diverse teams. Her earlier career in education and corrections administration—spanning roles with Central Piedmont Community College, Purdue University Global, and the Florida Department of Corrections—shaped her deep understanding of leadership, resilience, and purpose-driven growth. Throughout her career, Meg has been recognized for developing innovative programs that enhance leadership pipelines, strengthen organizational culture, and empower professionals to lead authentically.
Today, through True Choices Consulting, Meg partners with executives, educators, and organizations to bridge the gap between who they are and how the world perceives them. Her mission is to help others rise above self-doubt, align their inner confidence with outward impact, and build personal brands that command attention and trust. Beyond her professional work, Meg enjoys reading—especially self-help and leadership books—solving brain teasers, and staying current as a self-proclaimed news enthusiast. What do you attribute your success to?
With 38 years of experience, a doctorate, and a successful career in corrections administration, I had achieved what many would call success. Yet, deep down, I knew something was missing. For years, strangers had confided in me without knowing why, and it wasn’t until my preacher shared a simple truth—that my purpose was love—that everything finally made sense. That revelation changed my life and set me on a new path as a certified coach and consultant. What fuels my passion today is witnessing that transformative moment when someone’s eyes light up with understanding—the moment they realize that every struggle they’ve faced has shaped them for a reason. There’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing people embrace the power in their own story. Now, as I share my message from the stage, I empower professionals to reclaim their voices, build authentic brands, and lead with confidence and purpose. My core belief is simple yet profound: we are not defined by our titles or achievements, but by the strength, love, and authenticity we discover when we fully embrace who we truly are.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now revolve around the growing demand for authentic leadership and personal transformation. Many professionals are seeking deeper meaning and balance in their work, especially in a fast-paced world that often prioritizes performance over purpose. The challenge lies in helping individuals break free from self-limiting beliefs and rediscover their true identity beyond titles and roles. At the same time, this creates an incredible opportunity—to guide people toward intentional living, emotional intelligence, and authentic connection, which are the foundations of lasting success and fulfillment. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time reading—especially self-help books that expand my perspective and inspire personal growth. I also love tackling brain teasers that keep my mind sharp, and I’m an avid news enthusiast who enjoys staying informed about what’s happening in the world.
