Nahid Yahyaee

Nahid Yahyaee is a Chicago-based graphic designer, educator, and multidisciplinary artist with over seven years of experience blending cultural heritage with modern design innovation. Originally from Iran, Nahid followed in her father's footsteps—himself a professor—and has carved her own path as an advocate for creative expression and gender equity in the workplace. She holds two master’s degrees in design, most recently graduating with a Master of Design from the University of Illinois Chicago’s School of Design, where she also teaches. Her work spans corporate branding, typography, UX/UI, videography, projection mapping, and conceptual installations, often highlighting themes of identity, labor, and social justice. Her master’s thesis project, Invisibilized, explored women’s hidden labor and was based on real stories shared anonymously—an example of her commitment to amplifying unheard voices.
Nahid is also a passionate advocate for women’s rights and equity in the design industry. While she once hoped America would offer more opportunity than Iran, she has been disappointed by similar barriers faced by women in both countries—especially around respect, recognition, and work-life balance. She hopes to see shifts in workplace culture that offer more support and flexibility for mothers, as well as increased sponsorship and advancement opportunities for women. Recently named a “2025 Student to Watch” by Graphic Design USA, Nahid continues to inspire through her teaching roles at both Loyola University Chicago and the University of Illinois Chicago. She is actively seeking sponsorship to continue growing her professional career in the U.S., and she remains dedicated to helping women succeed in creative fields.
