Natalia S. Harris is an accomplished legal professional currently serving as the City Attorney for the City of Delaware, Ohio. With over two decades of experience in public service law, she has built a distinguished career rooted in municipal governance, prosecution, and community advocacy. Prior to her current role, Natalia held key leadership positions including Chief Prosecutor in both Delaware and Cincinnati, and Assistant City Attorney in Columbus, where she spent over a decade shaping legal policy and representing public interests with integrity and dedication.

A graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law and Central State University, Natalia is recognized not only for her legal acumen but also for her commitment to equity and public service. She holds a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate and has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. Beyond her legal work, she has made lasting contributions through mentorship with Big Brothers Big Sisters and board service with community health organizations. What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the unwavering support of mentors who saw potential in me even when I didn’t, and to the grace of God who has guided every step of my journey. Breaking barriers as the first African American female prosecutor and city attorney in both Delaware and Cincinnati, and being appointed to serve on key boards, have been powerful affirmations of that path.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to never be afraid to ask questions—curiosity shows you're engaged, willing to learn, and committed to growth.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To young women entering the legal field- never be afraid to ask questions, never doubt that you belong, and always believe in yourself—stay curious and confident in your voice.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is managing the growing complexity of legal matters, litigation, and grievances that arise in my role as a legal advisor to the city.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are balance, discipline, and connection—whether it's through spending time with family, reading, training, or enjoying the peace of fishing.
