R. Fitzpatrick

R. Fitzpatrick is a dedicated educator and mother whose passion for learning and service has shaped a meaningful career in public education. A proud graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, R. Fitzpatrick began her professional journey driven by a commitment to community impact. Initially pursuing roles in community service, she soon discovered her true calling in education. Drawing on her early experiences in her high school’s teaching magnet program, she transitioned into teaching, finding fulfillment in shaping young minds and fostering academic growth.

Over the years, R. Fitzpatrick has become a respected English educator within Hillsborough County Public Schools, where her leadership, compassion, and focus on excellence have earned her widespread recognition. While teaching high school English, she pursued advanced studies in English Education at the University of South Florida and dedicated five years to achieving her National Board Certification in Young Adult English Language Arts. Her dedication to professional growth and student success was honored when her colleagues named her Teacher of the Year in 2019—a testament to her impact both in and beyond the classroom.

Following the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, R. Fitzpatrick took on the role of Teacher Leader, mentoring peers and supporting new educators through professional development initiatives. In 2024, she continued her upward journey as Accelerated Programs Lead Teacher, guiding students toward academic achievement and lifelong learning. Grounded in faith, perseverance, and integrity, R. Fitzpatrick continues to model the values of resilience and self-improvement for her students, colleagues, and community.
