Dr. Rhea Lawrence

Growing up in western South Dakota surrounded by horses and beef cattle, Dr. Rhea Lawrence developed a deep connection to agriculture at an early age. That foundation inspired her to pursue a B.S. in Animal Science from South Dakota State University, where her passion for animal agriculture led her toward a career in the dairy industry.
Dr. Lawrence continued her academic journey by earning both her Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Dairy Science, specializing in dairy nutrition. Her graduate research focused on dairy heifer nutrition and the use of alternative feed ingredients, an area that fueled her dedication to helping young animals grow into productive, healthy cows.
Before joining DFA Farm Supplies, Dr. Lawrence gained valuable industry experience as a young animal nutrition consultant for a leading animal nutrition company. She later served on the Enterprise Dairy Team at Land O’Lakes, Inc. as a Dairy Technical Sales Consultant, providing expertise in nutrition strategies and customer support.
Currently, Dr. Lawrence serves as a Calf Specialist and Technical Sales and Support Manager for DFA Farm Supplies, where she partners with producers to strengthen animal health, performance, and on-farm profitability. In this role, she continues to combine her scientific expertise with a practical understanding of agriculture, always with a focus on supporting the success of dairy producers.
Dedicated to advancing the industry she grew up in, Dr. Lawrence finds fulfillment in helping dairy heifers reach their potential and in contributing to the long-term success of dairy operations across the region.
