What do you attribute your success to?
Tami attributes her success to resilience, discipline, and self-reliance.
She shared that her journey from accounting into real estate and construction was fueled by curiosity and a determination to create better-built, energy-efficient homes. Every challenge she faced—from managing contractors to handling litigation for property recovery—became a lesson in persistence and problem-solving. She credits her hands-on approach and belief that “no one will care about your business as much as you do” as the foundation of her success.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
“Never cut corners—it costs you more in the end.”
Tami explained that this simple but powerful advice has guided her through every phase of her career, from real estate renovations to HVAC installations. She’s learned that shortcuts in business, like in construction, eventually lead to breakdowns—and that real success is built on precision, patience, and pride in one’s work.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
“Don’t let the trades intimidate you—learn the craft and own your space.”
Tami encourages women entering construction, HVAC, or real estate to take the time to learn the technical aspects of the work. She believes that knowledge is empowerment and that understanding the mechanics behind every project earns respect and leverage in male-dominated industries. She advises young women to be hands-on, ask questions, and view every mistake as a stepping stone toward mastery.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Tami identified AI integration and energy policy shifts as key factors reshaping construction and HVAC industries.
While she acknowledges that technology brings efficiency, she also notes the growing need for ethical, skilled tradespeople who can ensure quality in implementation. On the opportunity side, she sees energy efficiency and green home restoration as the future of real estate—especially with growing government incentives and grants for sustainable development.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, craftsmanship, and continuous learning.
Tami believes doing things right the first time—even if it costs more upfront—builds both reputation and long-term savings. She values honesty in all business dealings and expects the same from those she works with. Personally, she strives to live by the principle of “leaving things better than she found them,” whether it’s a home, a relationship, or a business venture.
