Elizabeth Schwanke

Elizabeth (Liz) Schwanke is an accomplished higher education professional with a strong background in academic advising, student success, and leadership development. Currently serving as the Academic Advising Coordinator for the College of Business at Winona State University, Liz brings more than seven years of experience in advising, admissions, and student engagement. She plays a key role in the College of Business by being a guide for students on their academic journey, developing advising policies, supporting students on academic probation, leading orientation courses —all with the goal of improving student retention and success. Her collaborative work with faculty and university leadership reflects a deep commitment to creating inclusive, effective educational pathways.
Beyond her role in higher education, Liz is also a dedicated community member and leader. She holds an MBA in Leadership and Management from St. Cloud State University and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Winona State. Her passion for student development extends into her previous volunteer work as a mentor with Camp College and as a friend of the Winona Public Library. Whether she’s helping new students find their footing, advising student organizations, or serving customers at a local business, Liz brings a thoughtful, people-first approach to every facet of her work.
