Kimberly Voigt is a studio jeweler, educator, and innovator in the field of jewelry and object design. With a career spanning over two decades, she has been deeply involved in higher education, technology integration, and social design projects since 1999. Kimberly’s studio practice uniquely blends traditional metalsmithing with cutting-edge digital and additive fabrication technologies, exploring how these tools reshape both creative processes and educational experiences. As a Fashion Designer at metaBling and an Assistant Professor at Towson University, she bridges the worlds of craft, technology, and pedagogy.

Her work has gained national and international recognition, featured in notable venues such as the Houston Museum of Fine Art, Durham University in England, and ATINER in Greece. Kimberly’s pieces have also been published in prominent outlets like Lark Crafts’ “500 Rings” and Metalsmith magazine. She holds a BFA in Metalsmithing and Sculpture from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and an MFA in Metals/Jewelry/CAD-CAM from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. Kimberly’s commitment to integrating digital technologies with traditional craftsmanship continues to inspire both her students and the wider art and design community.

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to over two decades of teaching in the college art world—from Maryland to Philadelphia—where I honed my skills, inspired creativity in others, and eventually found the courage to pursue my own passion for metal design, jewelry, and art after the school closed in 2023.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to always strive to be your best and to follow your dreams wherever they may lead you.

The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is this: it won’t be easy, but it will absolutely be worth it.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is blending traditional handcrafted techniques with modern technology like 3D printing and sketch-based prototyping to create jewelry that isn’t just wearable—but meaningful, sculptural art.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values to me are family and passion—I care deeply for my mom, which brought me to Naples, and I pour my heart into my studio work every day.
