Paige Mayeux

Paige Mayeux is an experienced and highly skilled field chemist with over a decade of hands-on expertise in hazardous waste management, environmental cleanup, and chemical safety. Currently serving as HHW Technician III at Clean Harbors and Lead Field Chemist at NxGen Environmental, Paige plays a critical role in disaster relief efforts and hazardous materials handling, specializing in the cleanup, packing, and transport of hazardous waste. Her work has taken her across the country, from hurricane response in Tennessee to large-scale chemical stabilization projects in Arizona and Louisiana.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this male-dominated industry is to stand your ground, never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something because you're a woman—and prove them wrong every single time.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is constantly having to prove myself, but it also pushes me to grow, stay sharp, and earn respect through my work.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important value to me—both in my work and personal life—is simply to be a good person, treating others with respect, integrity, and kindness in everything I do.
