What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the drive that came from someone once telling me I wouldn't amount to much—proving them wrong has fueled my determination every step of the way.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my animation professor, who told me "Think outside the planet, because the box isn’t big enough." At the time, he was talking about animation, but I’ve carried that mindset into everything I do. To me, it means that sometimes the best solutions come from looking at a problem from a completely different angle, and that mindset has helped me stay creative and adaptable throughout my career.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice I’d give to young women entering this industry is to be unapologetically yourself. Your perspective and strengths are valuable, so don’t let anyone make you feel less than. Confidence in who you are is one of your greatest advantages.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is finding the time to provide one-on-one support and development for each team member—managing an average of 50 individuals makes it difficult to consistently give everyone the attention they deserve.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In both my work and personal life, purpose and impact are what matter most—once I recognized my talent and drive, I knew I wanted to use them to make a meaningful difference.
