Q

What do you attribute your success to?

God and family. I was raised to be humble, hard working, and to pay it forward.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never be rusty at anything. Always keep learning.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don’t be afraid to take that leap of faith. If it was meant to be easy, everyone would be in the legal industry. God set a dream in your heart for a reason.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Young attorneys, especially female attorneys, aren’t getting the learning opportunities of our counterparts. Too many seasoned professionals in this industry forget they had to start somewhere and learn. Today, women are expected to teach themselves. We are expected to provide 1000% at work and work late while raising a family, and if we can’t “keep up” we are judged.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Faith, perseverance, and love are the values that guide me most—both in my personal life and in my work. Running keeps me grounded and disciplined; it's my time to think, pray, and push through challenges one step at a time. My faith and church community give me strength and a sense of purpose beyond myself. But above all, my daughter is my “why.” She reminds me every day to lead by example, work with integrity, and show up with compassion. Everything I do is rooted in those core values, and they shape how I serve others through my practice and my presence.
