My determination has always been self-driven, and today my husband and children remain my greatest source of motivation, encouraging me to persevere—especially on the toughest days.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering this industry to embrace balance and resilience. As a mom of four boys, I know firsthand the importance of staying grounded and making time for what truly matters. Whether it’s being on the field cheering for my kids, finding strength and focus through working out, or enjoying the calm of a fishing trip, these moments remind me why I work hard. My advice is to stay driven, create balance between career and personal life, and never lose sight of the joy in both your professional and personal journeys.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The pharmaceutical sales industry comes with its own set of challenges. Gaining access to healthcare providers is becoming increasingly difficult due to office policies and compliance restrictions. The regulatory environment can also limit what you’re allowed to say, which makes differentiation difficult. Add to that the intense competition from other reps and the ongoing issues with drug pricing, insurance coverage, and reimbursement—each of which can affect prescribing behavior. Work-life balance can also be tough, especially for women managing both professional and personal responsibilities. Despite these challenges, there are significant opportunities. Pharmaceutical sales offers high earning potential and clear paths to advancement for top performers. Specialized areas such as oncology, rare diseases, and biologics often come with more strategic selling roles and greater rewards. Those who excel at building relationships and using data and technology to personalize their approach will thrive. Importantly, the industry is increasingly recognizing the value of diverse leadership, opening more doors for women to rise to senior roles. By starting strong and staying intentional, women entering pharmaceutical sales today can build a rewarding and impactful career.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
One key value is respect for personal time, recognizing that individuals need space outside of work to rest, connect with others, and pursue personal interests. Flexibility is also vital, allowing people to manage responsibilities in a way that suits their lifestyles, whether through flexible hours or remote work options. Boundaries play an essential role—both employers and employees must understand and honor limits between professional and personal life. Additionally, health and wellness are core values, as maintaining physical and mental health is crucial to long-term success and happiness. Lastly, purpose helps guide choices that align with both career goals and personal values, fostering a sense of meaning in both work and life. When these values are embraced, individuals are more likely to feel balanced, motivated, and satisfied in all areas of their lives.
