What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my father. I was the “Tom-boy” growing up and at age 4, I was changing the oil on the classic Sears lawnmower. He introduced me to music, and had very good soft skills that kept me in tune learning. I have read many books, and he would lead me in every direction. He taught me the value of a dollar and how to be frugal.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my father, who told me simply, 'If you want it—go for it. There’s nothing stopping you.' That mindset has stayed with me throughout my journey and continues to motivate me. It’s one of the key reasons I’ve chosen to further my education and pursue new opportunities for growth.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The best advice I would give to young women entering the industry is to lead with honesty and integrity. Stay true to your values and remain grounded in your principles. It’s also important to remember that no one is perfect—we’re all learning and growing. Give yourself grace, stay open to feedback, and don’t be afraid to take up space.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve observed, particularly as I transition more into business management, is how the younger generation is engaging with AI. While AI is a powerful tool, I’ve noticed a growing tendency to rely on it as a primary source of information rather than as a support or supplement. This shift presents both a challenge and an opportunity—to educate and encourage more thoughtful, strategic use of AI that enhances, rather than replaces, critical thinking and informed decision-making.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, Integrity and productivity are values that are most important to me. I need honesty which is the basis of creating a solid team. I don’t rest until the job, work or task is done. I am driven in accordance to what needs to be done first.
