Her Story

About Kaylee

Kaylee Emick is a Quality Supervisor by day and a builder by nature — currently growing PFD Consulting, a data visualization and plain-language insights practice built on the belief that people make better decisions when complexity is translated into clarity. With a background spanning quality improvement, behavioral science, and UX, she is drawn to work that helps people feel more confident, whether that's a client finally understanding their own data or a follower learning a new way to view a problem through kale.eats.world, Kaylee's travel-meets-everyday-life content brand. Multipassionate by design, Kaylee is learning to move fluidly between corporate quality work, entrepreneurship, and content creation — united by one throughline: making the complicated feel approachable, and helping people trust their own judgment a little more.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kaylee

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my passion for the food and beverage industry, my hands-on experience managing and training teams at Starbucks, and my love for the engineering and quality assurance side of my work. I’m excited to be in an industry where I can continue to grow and make an impact.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is: “It’s yours when you want it,” reminding me to take ownership of opportunities and go after what I truly want.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are balance, curiosity, and a love for the outdoors. I enjoy hiking, swimming, and camping, which help me recharge and stay energized both personally and professionally. I’m especially interested in the evolving space of food & beverage innovation, where chemistry, sensory perception, and cognitive science intersect. I enjoy exploring how data‑driven insights and behavioral understanding can enhance product development, user experience, and overall product quality.
