What do you attribute your success to?
My success is profoundly rooted in a foundation of unwavering faith, familial love, and relentless hard work that has guided every step of my journey. By putting my Creator first, I’ve cultivated a resilient spirit grounded in purpose, gratitude, and divine wisdom, allowing me to navigate challenges with grace and turn obstacles into opportunities for growth—whether in my finance career at a thriving company or my advocacy for community wellness and cannabis reform. Complementing this spiritual anchor are my devoted mother and father, whose boundless love instilled in me an unshakeable ethical framework and moral compass, teaching me the value of integrity, empathy, and the grit to show up every day, no matter the hurdles..
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Go against the grain and prove everyone wrong who doubts you.. make them eat their words by action..
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
When young women seek my advice as they embark on their careers, I share this timeless wisdom: Show up every day and commit to being better than you were yesterday. True growth isn’t instantaneous—it’s forged through consistent, incremental improvements over time. Perfection is an illusion, but real progress emerges from that daily dedication: arriving with purpose and giving your absolute best, without fail.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest challenges in leadership is navigating the delicate balance between empathy and decisiveness—fostering a supportive environment where team members feel valued and heard, while making tough calls that drive progress and accountability. This tension often arises in high-stakes scenarios, like guiding a diverse team through organizational change or advocating for innovative reforms in conservative landscapes. True leaders rise to this by embracing vulnerability, seeking diverse perspectives, and leading with integrity, turning potential conflicts into opportunities for collective growth and resilience.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
At the core of my life and leadership are the guiding values of service, patience, and resilience—principles that have shaped my approach to both professional challenges and personal fulfillment. Through my experiences fostering and adopting children from the foster care system, including becoming a grandmother early in life and choosing to welcome preteens who were often overlooked, I’ve learned the profound importance of meeting people exactly where they are, without judgment or haste. This empathy-driven mindset translates seamlessly into my leadership style, where I prioritize active listening, adaptive strategies, and building inclusive teams that thrive on mutual respect and growth, whether in the fast-paced finance world or advocating for progressive causes like cannabis reform in Nebraska.
