What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to taking leaps of faith, embracing the opportunities others have trusted me with, trusting in God, and believing in myself.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
“The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your knowledge. You won’t be accepted in every room you walk into at first, but you need own every room you walk into. From head to toe. Getting to the top has never been easy and it will take hard work to get to the top (and you will work twice as hard because you are a double minority). Do not get discouraged. Someone will take a chance on you and will never regret it. Know your worth.”

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women is to try everything—you won’t know what you love until you experience it. Once you find your passion, make a plan and keep learning, whether through formal education or free resources. Don’t be discouraged by setbacks, stay grateful, and if you’re not included at the table, bring your own chair and make space for yourself.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in hospitality today is creating opportunities for career growth. Many people have been in the industry for years without a clear path to advance, and at Pyramid, we’re actively working to put people first and support their development. Another major challenge is technology—hotels are increasingly automated, with minimal staff, like Marriott’s new property in Florida. This raises questions about the future of hospitality, job security, and how we adapt to these innovations.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both work and life are trust, respect, integrity, and spirituality. Trust is essential—whether it’s my team relying on me or guests sharing personal information, they need to know I can be counted on. Respect is non-negotiable; even when opinions differ, everyone deserves it. Integrity is central—I strive to be honest and transparent, because dishonesty always comes back to you. Finally, my spirituality informs and reinforces all of these values, helping me act with consistency and purpose.
