About Abby

Abby Gillespie is a sophomore honors student studying neuroscience at Indiana University Indianapolis. She is the co-founder of Her Health, Her Future, a 501c3 nonprofit organization established in January whose mission centers on educating women globally about their bodies, with a focus on topics including the menstrual cycle, fibroids, and menopause. Through initiatives such as Her Talks workshops at homeless shelters, Her Global distribution of menstrual products to countries including India and Mexico, and local legislative campaigns like Pad the Policy to address Indiana's period tax in partnership with senators, the organization has reached approximately 3,000 women. Gillespie also contributes to research, including a forthcoming paper on the effects of birth control on the teenage brain and laboratory work involving dorsal root ganglion neurons and endometriosis mouse models. In addition, she works as a Pilates instructor on her campus and at the She Shop in downtown Indianapolis, where she incorporates body awareness education into her classes.
