Her Interview

Ten minutes with Abha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I'd say I feel like a lot of my leaders and bosses have been instrumental to getting me where I want to be. Having people to look up to and say, that's where I want to be next, and how do I get there?

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

At the end of the day, you are going to be remembered and cherished for who you were as a person in the workplace, and less about what you've done. Who you were to people, how you respected people, how you showed up every day to work, and the energy and the kindness that you brought will go over and make a difference even more than the professional accolades that you get and the achievements that you create. You gotta do it with kindness and integrity.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be afraid, it's easy to be seen in a PM role as a woman to be seen or feel like you're being seen in a way that suggests you're bossy or entitled or too loud-spoken. Having not acting in fear and not getting over that imposter syndrome and being able to say you belong here, I'm working hard for this, and this is the role I can bring to a team. Don't be afraid.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges would be being able to best utilize AI in a way that feels both ethical but also just collectively adoptable. I'm still working through all the best ways to use it in a way that is efficient and makes things effective and doesn't do the job for people but provides tools and templates for folks to make their work easier. That's a big one for me. That's still a challenge but it's also an opportunity.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Always having a striking a chord with the balance making sure that you are able to prioritize both people and your personal life as well as continuing to grow professionally. Being someone of integrity, someone that is perseverant when it feels like you just can't or something's not going well. Kindness and people like putting other folks first, listening, being a person that is open-minded and approachable.
