Her Interview

Ten minutes with Abigail

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to having a very strong support system of my family and my friends, my fellow students, and my professors. Also, my parents always said it was never about the grades, it was always about what did you learn and what did you get out of it, which shapes how I approach challenges.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be open to different opportunities, even if it's not the one you want right then and there. Learn as much as you can within whatever you're doing now. Career paths can be very curvy and twisty and very rarely linear, so take insights from past experiences and let them guide you to the present.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges include navigating AI slop and workflows, and advocating for UX research since clients don't want to invest in it and want fast results. Opportunities include using AI to create faster, piggyback off ideas, make workflows more efficient, dedicate energy to innovating, and exploring how roles change with AI.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Making the most out of every opportunity, being present, being very communicative, leading with empathy, trying to be understanding, getting curious rather than judging, and really understanding where other people are coming from.
