About Abigail
I've been in the perioperative and healthcare tech world for about 8 years. My background is in public health and academic research, but I moved to healthcare tech to make a more immediate impact after working on a long 10-year project. Previously, I was a senior program coordinator at Mayo Clinic for a research consortium. I work in an AI startup building products from the ground up.

Ten minutes with Abigail
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would definitely say probably my parents, just given that they always encouraged me to, you know, pursue what I'm passionate about.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say be open to, you know, different opportunities. I think, you know, just with the expansion of technology, there's a lot of, I would say, titles that may be invented now, and that you might not really understand what that would do, but to, you know, really explore your different opportunities. There's so much more out there than I think, is advertised, or that the average person knows.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think, you know, I currently work in an AI company, and I think, as anyone can appreciate, their technology is constantly changing. I'm also in a startup, so that startup world is obviously unique in that You know, we're building products, you know, from the ground up, which is really exciting, but also brings in, you know, a lot of challenges of having to meet deadlines and, make sure that the product is kind of what we want, and that would satisfy our users.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Definitely say, yeah, honesty is probably a big one in my role.
