About Abigail
I've been working in tech basically my entire career, with about 10 years total experience and 5 years specifically as a titled UX researcher. My journey into UX research was a bit roundabout - I started as a graphic designer, then moved into project management and marketing, became a product marketing manager at a company called Brainshark, worked at a startup doing marketing research, and finally got my foothold into user experience research. As a Staff UX Researcher at Genesys, no two days are alike for me. One day I might be focused on user interviews, talking to customers or non-customers to understand their pain points and problems, and translating those findings into actionable insights for my stakeholders like product directors, engineers, and design leadership. Other days I'm running surveys or usability studies. One of the things I love most about my job is the direct impact I have on the products our company builds and develops, really advocating for the voice of the users and customers within that process. A good portion of my day is also spent developing and building frameworks like personas, journey maps, and prioritization models. I'm particularly proud of coming up with a measurement system and recommendation model for UX research that looks at how effective research is at being adopted by the organization.
