Ten minutes with Abigail
01What do you attribute your success to?
I've always had a great work ethic, which my parents instilled in me from a young age. During my time at Bryant university I had 3 jobs, which lead me to get my internship at a small marketing agency based out of Providence, RI which taught me a great deal about workflows, client relationships, and overall general management. During my time there, I had a lot of responsibilities where I had to wear a lot of hats (Account manager, Project Manager, Editor, Copy writer, Graphic Design), although stressful at times, that experience is how I ended up where I am today. It goes to show, hard work does pay off.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Speak up and network whenever and wherever possible. People always tell you the importance of networking when you go to business school, but networking doesn't stop in college, take every chance you get to speak up in meetings, ask questions when you have them, and allow people to remember your name - it makes a big difference.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Artificial intelligence, if you don't know how to use it, learn it and make it an asset for yourself and your company rather than a detriment. I see it taking over roles time and time again, so if you can learn how to use it to your advantage to streamline current workflows, you will be an important key player to your team.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Work with people who make the days seem shorter.
