Her Story
About Adaisha
Adaisha Sharpe has been a nurse for seven years. Her career began in adult med surge during her first year, followed by PACU with adults and children in her second year. In her third year of nursing, she entered the NICU, where she remained for two and a half years before transferring to the pediatric float pool. Originally planning to become a neonatal nurse practitioner after graduating nursing school, she instead returned to the University of Oklahoma in 2022 to pursue a doctorate in executive leadership, which she completed in 2026. In August 2026, she began her role as clinical supervisor at Aviana Healthcare, a home health company. In this position, she supports field nurses by guiding decisions and implementing evidence-based practices while adjusting to the home health setting and leadership responsibilities. She appreciates the flexibility of her role, which allows her to work from home, in the office, or in the field while still building connections with patients.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You have to be dedicated. Some days you'll have your good days, some days you'll have your bad days. Some days you will literally think, why did I even choose nursing? But as long as you have the heart for people, and being there to support people, whether it's physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, focusing on holistic care, and knowing that you are really compassionate about these individuals you're taking care of, it'll pay off. You have to be dedicated to it. It doesn't come easy. You'll have to stay prayed up. Don't be afraid to ask questions to make sure you're providing the best care possible for your patients.
