Her Story
About Adela
My dedication is to protecting the voices, stories, and safety of global communities across digital platforms - that's where I put my heart. I started in the tech world through a special project with Apple, working on Siri before the HomePod launched, instructing Siri on how to approach Spanish commands. After 2 years at Facebook working in content moderation, trust and safety, and partnerships, I was approached by TikTok where I've been for 5 years. Everything I care about and my perspective of always having a footprint, always doing something good for others, is being translated into the work I do. As Partner Operations Manager, I monitor the performance of our partners, work with cross-functional team members globally to ensure we set partners up for success, and create new strategies to improve operations. My manager is in Dublin, and my counterparts are all over the world. I also focus on the well-being of our teams, having real conversations about what makes them happy and reminding them of their purpose. One of my biggest successes has been starting operations from zero in different countries like the Philippines and Mexico, growing teams from zero to 400 members. Every time a young creator feels safe enough to post something, a parent trusts the platform for their child, or a community feels protected from harassment - that's where I think I'm being successful.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Service is my love language - I love serving others and recognizing others, which is what makes me feel good. I believe in always having a footprint, always doing something good for others, and that perspective drives everything I do. My achievements are based on my team's achievements, and I'm happiest when I can help them be successful. I try to bring real conversations to my teams, reminding them what makes them happy about being here, what their purpose is, and how things can shift. Having my [AGE] daughter and [AGE] baby boy is a daily reminder that the world they're growing into is shaped by what I'm doing today - that's where my work finds its purpose. I feel like my work protects moments, not just metrics. Every time a young creator feels safe enough to post something, a parent trusts the platform for their child, or a community feels protected from harassment - that's where I find meaning.
