Adelaide Nortier is a seasoned marketing and brand strategist specializing in the oil and energy sector. She currently serves as Brand and Marketing Manager at AES Drilling Fluids, where she leads comprehensive brand strategy and marketing initiatives across AES Drilling Fluids, AES Completion Services, and Superior Weighting Products. Adelaide has a proven record of aligning marketing efforts with business objectives, driving visibility, engagement, and growth through integrated campaigns, strategic partnerships, and innovative event programming. Her expertise spans brand management, communications, business planning, and sales operations, making her a key leader in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
Adelaide’s educational journey laid a strong foundation for her career. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing Communications from Bethany College, West Virginia, followed by advanced training in Marketing Strategy at Cornell University. She also completed Dale Carnegie’s Executive Leadership program, which further honed her leadership and team development skills. Her transition into the oil industry began from a background in medical sales, driven by curiosity and a desire to take on leadership opportunities within a challenging and technical field. Throughout her career, she has prioritized mentorship, team growth, and fostering strong company culture, including creating the brand identity that defines AES today.
Outside of her professional life, Adelaide is deeply engaged in the energy community, including active involvement with the American Association of Drilling Engineers and the Women’s Energy Network’s Houston Chapter. She is an avid traveler, having explored 28 countries with Tanzania and Morocco as recent favorites, and enjoys skiing, scuba diving, and strength training. Adelaide is also a devoted dog mom to a 92-pound Pit and Great Dane mix, and enjoys reading fantasy and historical fantasy. Her personal passions and professional expertise combine to make her a dynamic leader, committed both to her industry and to giving back to her community.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was a simple yet powerful reminder: just because I’m a woman doesn’t mean I don’t belong. Working in a male-dominated industry like oil, this guidance has inspired me to confidently claim my space, trust my expertise, and pursue opportunities without hesitation.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering this industry that just because they are women, it does not mean they don’t belong. Confidence, persistence, and trusting your expertise are key—your perspective and skills are valuable, and you have every right to be at the table and succeed.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field right now are navigating a turbulent market and the constant need to adapt and acquire new skills, particularly with the rise of AI. This industry demands a mindset of continuous learning—if you aren’t willing to evolve alongside these changes, it’s easy to fall behind. At the same time, this dynamic environment presents tremendous opportunities for growth, innovation, and staying ahead by embracing new technologies and approaches.
