About Adepeju
Adepeju Sadiku studied agricultural economics and launched her career working on a fish farm in Nigeria. She developed an interest in crop production during that role and moved on to an internship in a greenhouse focused on horticulture, where she found her true passion for the field. Despite significant barriers, including gender discrimination that prevented her from securing practical agricultural roles after graduation, she remained determined by taking interim positions such as a paralegal while persistently seeking opportunities in agriculture. Her dedication led to her recent rehire at the same greenhouse company where she completed her internship. Adepeju continues to build her expertise through potential certifications and aspires to become a key leader in the growing space, drawing strength from her family's upbringing that instilled values of hard work, diligence, and rejecting mediocrity.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My family raised us to be overachievers and not give up. We don't give room for mediocrity. I work hard and diligently, like a needle to the pole, because that's how we were raised.
