Adria Nadine Ross
Adria Ross, H.H.P., is a seasoned Holistic Health Practitioner based in San Diego, California, with over two decades of experience in massage, bodywork, and energy medicine. Her professional journey began with a transformative experience in craniosacral therapy, which inspired her to shift from an initial path in auto mechanics to the healing arts. Since 2002, Adria has cultivated a diverse practice, working in upscale spas, private practice, and educational settings, including teaching and supervising students at the International Professional School of Bodywork (I.P.S.B). Her expertise draws on a deep understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and kinesthetic awareness honed through years as a state-champion gymnast. Adria specializes in craniosacral therapy combined with the Yuen Method of Chinese Energetics, as well as a variety of massage and bodywork modalities, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Sensory Repatterning, Traditional Thai Massage, Reflexology, and Hot Stone therapy. She is also a certified second-degree Reiki practitioner and has experience working with pediatric and animal clients. Her holistic approach emphasizes the “three centers theory,” addressing the physical, emotional, and mental bodies simultaneously, with awareness and education as central components for lasting transformation. Beyond her clinical practice, Adria serves as senior clergy and board chair for the nonprofit Humanity One and is currently developing a mountain property into a learning and creativity center focused on personal growth, community, spiritual development, and wellness . She has been recognized with the San Diego Award for Best Holistic Health Practitioner for twelve consecutive years, reflecting her dedication and impact in the field. Outside of work, she enjoys aerial yoga, reading non-fiction, writing, woodworking, soap making, operating heavy machinery, and caring for her three dogs, including her recent success in fostering a dog for the first time.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to discipline and precision in my work, as well as being fully present with my clients. Focusing on each moment and giving my full attention allows me to provide the highest level of care and create meaningful connections.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received was probably to know my value and the value of what I offer and to not sell myself short.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering this industry to choose a school that emphasizes the healing arts and provides a well-rounded, holistic education. Having a strong mentor or teacher can also be an invaluable asset, offering guidance, support, and insight as you develop your skills and grow in your practice.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the massage therapy field right now is that many states have failed to recognize touch centered therapies as legitimate health care options which can make it difficult for clients to access the work the same way they can access other health care services. Another ongoing challenge is managing client imbalances—providing support without taking on their burdens oneself. At the same time, these challenges present opportunities to refine my skills, set healthy boundaries, educate others and create a practice that truly prioritizes client well-being.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are competence, integrity, and alignment. I strive to approach everything I do with skill and professionalism, remain true to my principles, and ensure that my actions are in harmony with my purpose and values.
