Her Story
About Adriana
A tech professional turned advocate and community empowerment specialist, this immigrant brings a rich blend of international experience and deep personal conviction to their work. Having transitioned from the technology sector in their home country, they have since built a career rooted in service, storytelling, and social impact across multiple communities.
Their work centers on uplifting those whose contributions often go unrecognized — including senior citizens, many of whom are veterans, as well as agricultural workers, small farmers, and individuals who have shaped industries like healthcare and technology. They leverage social media and strategic communication to amplify these voices and highlight the vital roles these individuals play in everyday life.
Driven by a deeply personal journey — including supporting a parent through cancer treatment and witnessing the challenges faced by vulnerable populations — they have extended their advocacy to survivors of domestic violence, connecting those in need with appropriate resources and organizations. They also provide administrative support to faith-based initiatives, including the School of Chaplains, Vessels of Mercy, and maintain ties to a nonprofit in their home country that supported their own educational journey.
Beyond professional pursuits, they are a writer currently crafting a book inspired by the stories shared with seniors, as well as a poet who finds meaning in human resilience. Their path has been shaped by a lifelong appreciation for strength in adversity — a value instilled during formative years spent in library spaces designed for blind readers, whose determination left an enduring mark on their outlook and purpose.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Adriana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I define success differently than the traditional sense. While I’m proud to have built a small business and collaborated with others throughout my career, my greatest measure of success is my ability to keep moving forward despite life’s challenges.
As a survivor of domestic violence, I have learned that resilience is one of the greatest strengths a person can possess. That experience has shaped who I am and continues to inspire the way I live and work—with empathy, perseverance, and hope.
One of the greatest honors of my life was being given the spirit name, "The Butterfly That Dances With the Heart," by a Native American chief. That name reflects the values I strive to embody every day: compassion, courage, and the belief that growth is possible, even after hardship.
There are still moments when I feel vulnerable, and I don’t always recognize my own accomplishments. However, others often remind me of the strength it takes to continue moving forward. To me, resilience itself is a meaningful measure of success.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is to discover your purpose and pursue what you are truly passionate about. Hold onto that passion, even when you face obstacles or setbacks. Believe in yourself, stay committed to your goals, and never give up. Growth takes time, but if you continue moving forward with determination, you will achieve more than you ever imagined.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of my biggest challenges is transforming my background in technical support from a primarily competitive, corporate environment into work that is more focused on service and community impact. I am passionate about using my skills and experience to support nonprofit organizations and help people in meaningful ways. That transition represents both my greatest challenge and my greatest opportunity.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me are empowerment, advocacy, service, resilience, and compassion. I am deeply committed to supporting vulnerable and marginalized communities, using storytelling to inspire and connect with others, and giving back through the knowledge and experiences I have gained. Family, authenticity, and helping others grow are at the heart of everything I do.
