What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my family and the opportunity to spend meaningful time with them. Their support and presence have been a constant source of motivation and inspiration in my journey. Being able to make the time to be there for my husband and children have always been something I wanted in life.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Someone told me don’t accept just any and every job that comes your way because you know what you want in a client and some clients don’t want the best for you and see the best. So be sure that client you are meeting with is someone you align with on goals, outlooks on life and you equally want the best for each other.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering my industry to network as much as possible. Take every opportunity that comes your way, but never sell yourself short—always know and stand by your worth.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Finding the clientele in this economy with it being limited due to the economy. With everyone trying to save money and go the route of using other platforms that are free, people don't want to use a designer for what they need. An example being AI, when there is a real person who is open to meeting their needs or even having designers utilize AI with their designs if the client is open to wanting AI but not using it to replace the entirety of the job.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Keeping a balance for work and personal life is one of the most important, but also having the passion between the client and myself makes a world of a difference for the product we are making together. I think of work aligning with my personal life with my own passions translating through my work, so my client and me can create something amazing and we enjoy designing together to make the finished product.
