Her Interview

Ten minutes with Adrianne

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to community and the mentors I've met throughout my educational and professional journey. People who saw potential in me when I didn't see it in myself helped me believe in my capabilities and combat my inner critic. One mentor who recently passed had unbridled belief in me that changed my outlook.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Show up for the job that you want, not the job that you have. And if somebody says they believe in you, believe them no matter what your inner critic says.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

There will be times where you aren't sure if the role is for you or if you're the right person. Take a second and consider what if I am the right person? Visualize what success could look like if doubt stepped out of the way. Women are incredibly adaptable and flexible with a unique superpower to conquer anything and rise above expectations.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There is a necessary culture shift needed with rapid adoption of new technologies and awareness around how humanity is tied to personal information in a digital world. Not every state has laws yet, but advocating for change in thinking about personal information enables us to be guardians of humanity in a digital world. It's both an opportunity and a challenge.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and integrity are core to being a leader. There also needs to be a degree of courage in every leader's heart to innovate, find new solutions, recruit diverse teams, and not be afraid to break the mold to lay the groundwork for something new.
