Her Interview
Ten minutes with Adrienne
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, adaptability, continuous learning, and a willingness to embrace change. When my professional ballet career unexpectedly came to an end due to health challenges, I used the experience as an opportunity to reinvent myself and build expertise in business and technology. That transition reinforced the importance of perseverance, curiosity, and the ability to navigate new challenges with confidence. I believe success comes from investing in education, continuously developing new skills, embracing opportunities for growth, and creating pathways forward rather than waiting for them to appear. My strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to lifelong learning have been instrumental in helping me thrive in industries where women are often underrepresented.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Throughout my career, I have learned the importance of stepping beyond my comfort zone, embracing new opportunities, and continuously expanding my knowledge. While I cannot identify one specific mentor, I have been fortunate to learn from leaders who encouraged me to challenge myself and pursue growth opportunities. Those experiences shaped my belief that investing in people is one of the most meaningful responsibilities of leadership. I strive to honor those who supported my journey by creating opportunities, sharing knowledge, and mentoring the next generation of leaders to help them achieve their own professional success.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
As a woman in the technology industry, I've learned the importance of being proactive and advocating for myself. Don't be afraid to ask questions, share your ideas, and seek out opportunities for growth. Put yourself in the room where decisions are being made, contribute with confidence, and never wait for opportunities to come to you—create them. Your voice, perspective, and determination are valuable, and taking initiative will help you build a meaningful and successful career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges and opportunities in my field are closely tied to the rapid pace of technological advancement. Keeping up with emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and evolving security requirements, requires continuous learning, adaptability, and a commitment to innovation. At the same time, there are opportunities to shape the future of technology by helping organizations adopt secure, scalable solutions that create meaningful impact. Another challenge, especially as a woman in government contracting and technology, is increasing visibility and gaining access to influential spaces that have historically been dominated by established networks. I believe creating opportunities, building strong relationships, and bringing diverse perspectives into the room are essential to driving progress and advancing the industry.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me most in both my professional and personal life are integrity, continuous learning, leadership, accountability, and service to others. I believe great leaders are not measured solely by the results they achieve, but also by the people they inspire, support, and develop along the way. I am passionate about creating opportunities for others, mentoring emerging professionals, and helping individuals grow into confident leaders. By fostering environments built on trust, collaboration, and innovation, I strive to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the success of the people and organizations I serve.
