Adrienne Carlson

Adrienne Carlson is a marketing manager with over 20 years of experience working in the marketing field, whether strictly marketing or incorporating design. She attended the University of Oregon where she studied English, French, and film, and later earned an associate's degree in web design. Carlson started her career in admin and sales assistant roles at the Oregonian, Oregon's main newspaper. After the housing market crash, she volunteered for a hybrid position and learned graphic design on the job. This led to freelance work designing business cards, websites, and helping launch companies through consulting that combined design and marketing skills. She has since held more in-depth marketing positions and currently manages a team, teaching them to tell stories through the hero's journey narrative. Carlson takes pride in her promotion from marketing specialist to marketing manager, achieved by advocating for herself, as well as in mentoring others without gatekeeping knowledge. Her work is inspired by storytelling, and she aspires to one day work for herself as a full-time consultant supporting small businesses whose values she respects.
