About AFSANA
Afsana Nishat serves as a Virology Analyst at Pixel North America, a role she began in November 2024. In this position, she conducts cell culture, virus-related studies, and laboratory testing while supporting research projects that evaluate the safety and effectiveness of biological products. She earned her MBBS degree and completed a Master's in Microbiology and Film Science at the University of Florida. Originally from Bangladesh and now residing in Leesburg, Virginia, Afsana is dedicated to advancing in the biotechnology industry by expanding her technical expertise and contributing to the development of vaccines and innovative therapies. She aspires to take on greater leadership responsibilities over the next five to ten years and to publish research papers while contributing to programs in viral technology, gene therapy, and related fields to improve public health. Afsana is also committed to supporting women, particularly those in Bangladesh who encounter family or personal obstacles, by helping them pursue education and professional success.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I wanted to help women who are eager to learning and to go out. I'm from Bangladesh and there are lots of women in Bangladesh who don't have that much helping hand. There are some family problems, some personal problems, so I wanted to help women to be successful.
