About Aga
I've been in my field since 2008 after deciding on accounting in college due to needing financial security and seeing accountant job listings. I earned my Bachelor's in accounting from Temple University in 2008 and obtained my CPA license. I now run my own firm in Culver City where I handle client work like tax returns and IRS notices, working with my bookkeeper. The work is seasonal with intense tax deadlines that create stress but I've grown to love the profession.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The greatest piece of advice was be your own boss. You're capable of doing it, go do it. Hearing that from close people was very encouraging and helped me overcome doubts about starting my own firm.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The tax deadlines are the biggest challenge. The deadlines the government puts in place are stressful with not enough time after closing the year, leading to long hours and burnout for accountants.
